Singer Factory Panoramic Postcard
The Singer Mfg. Co. was proud of its enormous factories and, in addition to the backs of instruction books and advertisements, many postcard printers produced postcards of factories such as Clydebank in Scotland and Elizabeth NJ in America.
When they bought their rival Wheeler & Wilson in 1906, they acquired another huge plant in Bridgeport CN. Here is a Singer panoramic folding postcard of the ex-Wheeler & Wilson plant in 1915, nearly 10 years after the takeover. It still displays 'Wheeler & Wilson Sewing Machines' on three buildings with only one 'Singer Mfg. Co.' on a stair tower and 'Singer' on the flag! (MG)
