1W1

The Singer 1W1 Sewing Machine

Produced from 1905, the 1W1 was a version of a Wheeler & Wilson early domestic for manufacturing puposes. It was especially adapted for fine lock stitching, and was used largely in the manufacture of collars and cuffs, fine shirts, underwear, etc.

It featured a box frame, draw feed, a cleft foot for hemmers, and a plated connection. It feeds from left to right. It used bobbin #204012 and a curved needle. Originally its speed was 1000 spm, but was later increased to 1600.
