Ceramic Advertising Tile
Maggie Snell
GRAHAM FORSDYKE displayed an attractive ceramic tile depicting a Jones sewing-machine ad- vertisement at the Keighley meeting.
He told the members that the tiles were available from the B&Q chain but only in sets of six, containing the Jones tile and five other, different, advertising slo galls.
Attempts to buy bulk supplies of the Jones tile only from the makers had been fruitless. GF explained that they were made by Pilkingtons who bought in the necessary transfers in the groups of six different designs and could, therefore, not produce one without the five others.
